Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee brings Halloween fun to Downtown North Augusta

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WJBF) – Ghosts, goblins, and good times are taking over the streets this weekend as the city celebrates its 39th annual Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee—bringing thousands together for a weekend of Halloween fun, food, and music.

Families filled Downtown North Augusta Friday night for a “spooktacular” time filled with Halloween spirit. Organizers say this year’s event features more activities and vendors than ever before.

“We’ll have over 180 craft vendors tomorrow,” said Jennifer Goldman with Explore North Augusta.

“Plenty to shop and choose from, as well as great food. Every year it just gets bigger and bigger.”

And the bigger it gets, the bigger the entertainment.

One of this year’s headliners is Grammy-nominated Christian artist Matthew West, who shared his excitement about being part of the Jubilee.

“It’s a gorgeous day here in Augusta at the Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee,” West said.

“The whole street is closed down. I got off a tour bus this morning and smelled kettle corn and barbecue and thought, it’s going to be a good day. I’m just honored to be here tonight.”

Festivalgoers say the event offers something for everyone—from carnival rides to live performances.

“Food, great music. It’s great for our community to really spend time together and enjoy ourselves around this time of year,” said Colton Poole.

The festivities continue Saturday, wrapping up with a headlining concert from the Grammy-Award winning band Blues Traveler.
