Jason Kelce will be by his brother Travis’ side in some capacity when the Kansas City Chiefs tight end marries music star Taylor Swift.
However, the Philadelphia Eagles legend still doesn’t know if he’ll be his younger bro’s best man, though Jason said on a new podcast appearance that he’s itching to fill the role.
Jason Kelce was the featured guest on this week’s episode of “Bussin’ With The Boys” with former NFL players Will Compton and Taylor Lewan. Not surprisingly, the wide-ranging interview included no shortage of conversation about Travis and Taylor’s engagement.
When asked by the hosts about his upcoming reception speech, Jason clarified that he’s not the best man–yet.
“First of all, hopefully I’m the best man,” Jason said. “We’ll see. Travis has a lot of friends. I’m just hoping to get the opportunity.”
Spoken like a former offensive lineman trying not to draw attention to himself. Even if Travis hasn’t officially asked his brother to serve as his best man, we’re assuming its basically a formality at this point.
A perfect match
Make not mistake about it, Jason is fired up for his younger brother and future sister-in-law.
Before Travis and Taylor announced their engagement on Aug. 27, breaking the internet in the process, she made an appearance on the Kelce brothers’ “New Heights” podcast. During the episode, Jason seemed to get emotional while Taylor spoke glowingly of his brother.
He explained why during his time on “Bussin’ With The Boys.”
“It’s like you’re listening to somebody describe your brother, and I think a lot of people… I don’t know how to say it, but you’re hearing how like she fully understands why Travis is like an incredible human being and like the human exclamation point was like the best way I’ve ever heard Travis described in my life,” Jason said, via PEOPLE.
“I love my brother and I just want him to have like the most fulfilled, best life possible,” he added. “And such a huge part of that is who you end up marrying, who you end up raising a family with.”
‘The Human Exclamation Point’
At one point in her comments about her future husband, Swift described Travis Kelce as a “human exclamation point.”
Jason later admitted he planned on stealing the nickname for his bro.
“That is such a great way to describe Travis Kelce. That might be better than Big Yeti, the Human Exclamation Point,” Jason said, referring to Travis’ college moniker. “That’s my new nickname for Travis Kelce. Stealing that one.”
