Jessica Jones Returns in New Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Trailer – Bundlezy

Jessica Jones Returns in New Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Trailer

Marvel Studios has released the first official trailer for season two of Daredevil: Born Again.

The show is a long-awaited sequel to Netflix’s acclaimed Daredevil show, which aired alongside the MCU from 2015 to 2018. Born Again integrates Charlie Cox‘s beloved hero into the main franchise, and the second season will bring Krysten Ritter‘s Jessica Jones along for the ride.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Raises The Stakes For Matt Murdock

The new trailer for Daredevil: Born Again‘s second season teases that Matt Murdock will be going up against Wilson Fisk in his new position as Mayor of New York City. The teaser reveals that Fisk has declared martial law on the city and enforced a strict curfew that he’s seemingly using the keep his criminal enterprise undercover.

Season two of Daredevil: Born Again also introduces Matthew Lillard as Mr. Charles, an enigmatic new character who seemingly has mysterious ties to Fisk’s grimy underworld of crime. He’s sure to be another obstacle in Murdock’s way, giving the show even more reason to increase the stakes and bring back so many crucial characters.

The first season of Daredevil: Born Again was a resounding success, which proved that Marvel can rely on these Netflix characters to anchor the street-level storytelling in the MCU. That’s exactly what fans can expect from the future of MCU television, as the franchise gears up for a Punisher TV special and a potential Jessica Jones spinoff in the future.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Teases A Defenders Reunion

The introduction of Jessica Jones is clearly the biggest talking point of the latest Born Again trailer, but many fans are speculating that the show could be building towards an even bigger Defenders reunion. The heroes will clearly need to team up in order to bring down Mayor Fisk in the upcoming season, and that could be the perfect opportunity to pull the characters back together.

Mike Colter recently gave an interview in which he confirmed that he’d had discussions with MCU President Kevin Feige about potentially returning as Luke Cage, and Jon Bernthal is already confirmed to be making an appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as Frank Castle. The only Netflix hero remaining is Iron Fist; actor Finn Jones has given no indication of an MCU return yet.

Given how successful Born Again has been so far, it wouldn’t be surprising at all if the MCU was gearing up to make the Defenders a permanent fixture of the franchise’s street-level storytelling once more.

While the Avengers movies deal with existential threats like Thanos and Doctor Doom, it’s helpful to have reliable characters like Daredevil to spearhead the more grounded side of the franchise.
