Ever since Coronation Street fans met Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown), they’ve become quite suspicious of her.
Jodie was first introduced to us during Corriedale, when we saw her in the back of Graham Foster’s (Andrew Scarborough) van. She was tied up with a blanket over her head, and managed to escape from his clutches as a result of the crash taking place.
Jodie was found by Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) in the woods, and we later learnt that she is Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) sister.
Shona has been keen to reconnect with her sibling, but audience members cannot help but pick up on the fact something feels a bit off when it comes to the newcomer.
A couple of days ago, Jodie spent time with Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) and took pleasure in telling her Shona won’t ever love her as much as her biological daughter Harper.
It was today’s episode where things kicked up a notch where Jodie is concerned, as she told a pretty shocking lie to her sister.
After witnessing Shona dig for information from Kit about her situation the night of the crash, Jodie headed to a support group meeting at the community centre.
There, Jodie listened as a woman called Ellie described the abuse she suffered at the hands of her violent partner.
A while later, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) called Shona and told her that Jodie was having a meltdown in the house.
The two sisters sat down and Shona encouraged Jodie to open up. As she started talking, Jodie spoke about a relationship she had.

We were then delivered quite an unexpected twist, as it became clear that Jodie was just retelling Ellie’s story from earlier, and pretending that the ordeal was what she went through. As a worried Shona listened, Jodie revealed that her partner threw her out the house while she was pregnant.
It’s very clear Jodie is hiding a lot of secrets but as for her gameplan when it comes to Shona? We’ll just have to wait and see.
One person who does know the answers when it comes to Jodie is show producer Kate Brooks.
‘We’ll find out exactly why she was in that van, we’ll find out what her link to Graham is’, she explained.
‘Graham was a character with a murky past who was capable of many things. For Jodie to be embroiled with somebody of that ilk kind of sheds a light on what kind of character she is and what kind of character to expect. We’ll reveal what went on between them and how Jodie ended up running for her life through a wooded area, and what Graham’s role was in it all.’
Meanwhile she told us to ‘keep an eye’ on Jodie.
‘All is not what it seems with Jodie and there’s a lot of layers to her. There’s lots of secrets to explode and she’s going to bring an awful lot of drama to the Platt household.’
