Joel’s horrific rampage in EastEnders sparks surprise response from unexpected character

An unexpected Walford local has set the record straight with vile Joel Marshall (Max Murray) in EastEnders.

The teen just seems to be getting worse and worse.

And, if reports are to be believed, the storyline will mirror events of Netflix smash hit Adolescence this autumn, with the BBC lining up a spin-off documentary featuring ‘Enders cast members to coincide.

In tonight’s episode, Joel continued to drip vile poisonous ideologies into his naïve mate Tommy Moon’s (Sonny Kendall) ear.

The lads were soon approached by Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) and Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd), and he launched a vicious verbal attack, branding the girls ‘the next generation of fishwives.’

Joel proceeded to tear strips off Lily for being a young mum, and Amy squared up to him.

He then called them both ‘slappers’, before picking up a chair and smashing it off the wall. Tommy prevented Joel from going any further, before mum Kat (Jessie Wallace) dragged him out.

She made sure to give the teen a piece of her mind – and she wasn’t alone.

As Joel stood shamed in the cafe, Marie Evans (Liz Sweet) chipped in too!

What has Joel done in EastEnders?

The vile teen has been at the cause of several scandals since he arrived earlier this year.

He’s been prevented from returning to his home in Australia after upskirting a pupil in his class, with dad Ross (Alex Walkinshaw) paying her family $50,000 in exchange for their silence.

Within weeks of joining Walford High he’d filmed himself having sex with Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) and impregnated her, and introduced Tommy to pornography.

He then showed his pal a disgusting social media influencer who degrades women.

Joel thought this was an appropriate way to talk about the opposite sex, branding his own mum a ‘slapper’ in a conversation about their estrangement.

He also sexually assaulted a passenger on the London Underground in an utterly vile move, with Vicki paying off the victim.

More recently he’s shared Stacey Slater’s (Lacey Turner) SecretCam content online, and attempted to slap Avani for having an abortion.

Vicki knew she had to put a stop to it, but in retaliation, he asserted that if she pushed him further, she’d find out that a ‘proper slapping would do [her] the world of good.’

What did Marie say to Joel?

She’s been at the heart of the Bridge Street Cafe for 25 years, and during that time she’s said very little.

There’s nothing I love more than championing the hard work of our favourite EastEnders who play a smaller role in the Walford community – they’ve been in the back of shots for decades, cementing the fictional world as a real place.

It’s something the soap has done since its inception, from Winston and Big Ron (Ulric Browne and Ron Tarr) on the market, to Tracey (Jane Slaughter) in the Queen Vic, they’ve kept the cogs turning while the main characters cause high drama each weeknight.

In June, a potential new romance was teased for Marie when she cosied up to Shrimpy (Ben Champniss) at a karaoke night in the pub.

While she may keep herself to herself, she clearly couldn’t stand by and watch mysoginistic Joel take pride in his disgusting tirade of abuse towards the women in her place of work.

As he glanced over towards her, she exclaimed: ‘Get. Out!’

Good on ya, Marie.

And it’s about high time more locals followed suit!
