The former French world champion, Patrick Vieirahe stopped being coach of the Genoa. This was announced this Saturday by the Italian club Johan Vazquez20th and last of the Serie A.

Vieira, 49, had taken the reins of the Genoese club in November 2024. Although he achieved a comfortable salvation, he was on a tightrope since the home defeat against Cremonese (0-2) on Wednesday.
On Friday, the Genoa dismissed its sports director and his replacement met with the former Arsenal player to confirm him in the coaching position.
But according to the Italian press, Vieira and the club leaders met again this Saturday and decided to separate their paths.
The French coach will be replaced on an interim basis by Roberto Murgita and Mimmo Criscito. Genoa visits Sassuolo on Monday.
Vieira is the second coach to lose his job in Serie A this season, after Igor Tudor at Juventus.
