By all accounts, wrestler/actor John Cena appears to be happily married to his second wife, Shay Cena.
They met in a bar in Vancouver and married in 2020. Shay Cena is an engineer, and Cena has said he believes they were “meant to be.”
However, before he met his current wife, Cena had a history of broken relationships, including a divorce and a severed engagement.

Before he met wife Shay, Cena was engaged to Nikki Bella. That’s her stage name; she’s Nikki Garcia, who is, like Cena, a WWE star.
The couple broke up in 2018 despite being engaged.

“After I called off the engagement, we tried to work on our relationship to get back to where it was, and in order to move forward with our wedding. After much time and soul-searching alone and together, we have decided to officially part ways,” Bella told E! News in a statement.
“I had a beautiful and loving 6-year relationship with a wonderful man. I have the utmost respect for John, but I know this is what’s best for me.”
She also opened up about the moment Cena asked her out.
“The first opening line was, ‘Hey, do you want to go to dinner with me?’ and I was kind of like, ‘WHAT?! With me?!’ When you’re friends with John for so long… It just kind of started out like a dinner date and I have to admit we were friends for so many years but then when you make it romantic, I couldn’t even say a word to him,” Bella said on TribLive Radio.
John Cena Was Married to 1st Wife Elizabeth Huberdeau
Cena was previously married to his first wife Elizabeth Huberdeau, but the couple divorced in 2012. She was his high school sweetheart.
An old Facebook page in her name still has photos of Huberdeau with Cena on it, but it hasn’t been updated publicly since 2013.
He spoke about how WWE affected his first marriage in an interview with Steph McMahon.
“Love is uncomfortable because you have to be vulnerable,” he said in that interview, revealing that his pursuit of a wrestling career got in the way of the marriage succeeding.
