Jon Hamm Fronts New Ad Campaign After Mercedes-Benz Exit

Jon Hamm has a new brand deal. The actor will be the face of “the largest rebrand” in BetMGM’s history for the company’s upcoming ad campaign, titled “Make It Legendary,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Hamm, 54, will appear in a series of new commercials shown across TV, social, and digital platforms, as well as BetMGM properties. The commercials will premiere Aug. 30 during college football games, the outlet reported.

In a statement, the sports betting and gaming entertainment told THR,  “This is the largest rebrand in BetMGM’s history, and it’s only fitting that it culminates with Jon Hamm stepping in as our new brand ambassador. Jon Hamm is the perfect embodiment of our new ‘Make It Legendary’ brand vision. Jon’s charisma, talent, and universal appeal align seamlessly with BetMGM’s commitment to delivering unparalleled experiences to our players.”

Jon Hamm Was Previously the Voice of Mercedes-Benz

On Mad Men, Hamm’s character, Don Draper, was the man behind one of the most iconic Coca-Cola commercials in history. In real life, Hamm has no problem being a pitchman. He has appeared in campaigns for H&R Block, Progressive Insurance, and Apple TV+ . The Emmy-winning actor has admitted he finds commercial work to be gratifying.

“It’s a challenge to tell a story in a 30-second spot,” Hamm told Bloomberg in 2022. “It’s a challenge to get a message across in a one-minute spot or a 15-second ad or what have you. And there are so many creative ways to do that nowadays.”

Hamm’s new BETMGM campaign comes a little more than a month after he ended a 15-year partnership with Mercedes-Benz. Hamm made his debut as the spokesman for the luxury car brand in a  2010 ad for the S400 Hybrid,  per The New York Times. The Mad Men star was hired to help the company reach a “younger, more vibrant audience,” Mercedes-Benz VP of marketing Steve Cannon said at the time.

In July 2025,  Adweek reported that Lucy Liu would replace Hamm for a “fresh era” for the company. Liu made her debut with Mercedes-Benz in a campaign for the GLS SUV.
