Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen is an injury doubt for the Premier League game against Everton on Saturday.

The 25-year-old joined Wolves on a permanent deal from Celta Vigo this summer for £23 million after impressing on loan last season.

However, the Norway international is wanted by Newcastle United and Wolves have rejected a £55m offer for their striker this week.

Strand Larsen scored twice in Wolves’ comeback victory against West Ham in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

But Wolves head coach Vitor Pereira has revealed that the striker is suffering from a ‘small injury problem’ ahead of their Premier League game at home to Everton this weekend.

‘First of all, it is important that we know every person has ambition in life but at this moment, Jorgen is our player, is working hard because he has a good personality and is a team player,’ Pereira said on Friday.

‘In this moment, he is dealing with a small injury problem, and I hope we can play tomorrow with him because it is a small problem.

‘At the end of the day he is our player and an important player for us, and everything we cannot control, we cannot lose our energy. At this moment, it is important to think about the game.

‘He’s a very good player, and I know this is a situation that everybody is talking about.

‘I believe the player can think about it, but at the end of the day he cannot control the situation. This is a moment to think about the team, think about winning the game, because it’s a very important game for us.

‘He must focus on the team, to do his best, to help the club, and I am trying to focus on my team, to do my best, and at the end of the market we will see. But it’s not my decision, it’s not his decision and we must focus on what we can control. We can control our commitment, to keep our level, and this is the way.’

Asked if he is 100 per cent confident that Strand Larsen will stay at Wolves, Pereira replied: ‘He is our player, he is our player.’
