DURANGO.- The journalist Miguel Angel Beltran was found dead in Durango; A threatening message was found near his body, according to the first reports of the death.
According to preliminary information, the journalist’s body was wrapped in a blanket, while the message was: “For raising falsehoods to the people of Durango”.
Beltrán collaborated in media such as Context y The Voice of Durangomainly in sports coverage but also followed up on social issues.
In recent years he carried out his work through digital platforms; in TikTok identified himself as ‘The Capo‘, and in Facebook like ‘La Gazzeta Dgo’.
The content he published before his death was related to complaints against the racketeering.
Beltrán, 60, was found dead yesterday Saturday morning in the town of Río Chico, on the Durango-Mazatlán highwaybut he was not identified until this Sunday.
His son was the last person to see him alive last Thursday, when both were heading to work, but Miguel Ángel did not return home.

The journalist was also spokesperson for the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE) of Coahuila.
Seven journalists murdered in Mexico in 2025
