Kaizer Chiefs have wrapped up their pre-season tour of The Netherlands.
Kaizer Chiefs played five matches – they won one and lost four.
So, it’s safe to say this wasn’t the best pre-season tour for Nasreddine Nabi and Amakhosi. Let’s take a look at all of Chiefs’ results.
ALL CHIEFS’ PRE-SEASON RESULTS
Chiefs kick-started their tour with a 2-1 loss against Vitesse.
Thereafter, they were humiliated by FC Utrecht who beat them 4-0. A day later, they played again and lost again. Amakhosi lost 1-0 against NEC to make it three losses on the trot.
Thankfully. Chiefs broke their losing streak in their fourth match when they beat PEC Zwolle 1-0 to secure their first and only victory of their pre-season tour to The Netherands.
Finally, they lost their final match 1-0 against FC Twente.
Ultimately, it was a frustrating and dissappointing tour for Nabi and Amakhosi. So, Chiefs will have their work cut out for them when it comes to recruiting top players in key positions.
TOUR SERVES AS A STERN REMINDER OF STRIKER CRISIS
It is clear – Chiefs have a striker crisis.
In five matches, they scored just twice. One of these goals was a stunner from Reeve Frosler.
Meaning, only one goal game from their attackers – a solo strike from DDC star Naledi Hlongwane. That is one goal from their strike force in 450 minutes (7 and a half hours of football).
Flavio Silva has been underwhelming since signing for Amakhosi. Meanwhile, the talented Wandile Duba certainly needs experience and guidance around him.
These TWO attackers are on Chiefs radar.
