Kaizer Chiefs supporters have taken to social media to voice their frustration over the club’s newly launched 2025/26 season jerseys, particularly over the steep price tag attached to the Kappa-branded kits.
While some fans have praised the design, some are unhappy with what they see as pricing that is out of touch with the local market.
Kaizer Chiefs officially unveiled the new home and away kits this morning, continuing its partnership with Italian sportswear brand Kappa.

The home jersey features a sleek, minimalist design in the club’s traditional gold and black, while the away jersey uses a bold, modern pattern. While the aesthetic received some praise, it was quickly challenged by complaints over the cost price.

The standard replica jersey is priced at R1,300, which has sparked a backlash among fans—one of whom feel the pricing ignores the financial realities of the average South African supporter.

Another fan, @gossie, highlighted the issue of international pricing models being applied locally: “Let’s not familiarize ourselves with this crazy prices. They are using the English market now (shirt starts at £60). £60 for a shirt, for a South African born and bred, is PEPERDUUR!”
The sentiment was echoed by @onk321, who not only criticized the price, but expressed frustration with the club overall: “I would never buy a Kappa for this much. It’s even worse that I’m not entirely happy with Kaizer Chiefs as a fan.”
