Kappa South Africa’s Head, Ricky Joseph, claims Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs are bigger than Bafana Bafana.
Amakhosi launched their new Kappa kit this week ahead of the new 2025/26 season. The club’s marketing director, Jessica Motaung, said the home jersey reflected the culture Chiefs are known for.
The Glamour Boys recently returned from the Netherlands for their pre-season and will wear the new kit for the first time when they face Asante Kotoko of Ghana this weekend.

“You know the truth is, right now we believe we’ve got the biggest team in Africa. Kaizer Chiefs is bigger than the national team, to be honest with you, we would always look at partnerships with other clubs and the national team,” Joseph said as per SABC Sport.
“We would always consider looking at it, right now we’re just happy with the Kaizer Chiefs sponsorship and that’s where our focus remains at this moment in time.
“If you saw my emails and phone, we get asked by teams all the time to sponsor. So, it’s really just about making sure we have the right partnerships done at the right time,” Joseph continued.

“We are always open to discussing it, as I said, we need time to make the partnership work.
“And I mean, these jerseys were designed over a year ago, so everything takes time, and we wanna do it properly, should we partner with anyone else in the future,” he concluded.
