Chiefs and Pirates busy on the market
On the Amakhosi side, they have announced Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva, Ethan Chislett, Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane and Siphesihle Ndlovu. Pirates have confirmed Sipho Mbule, Masindi Nemtajela, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Tshepo Mashiloane, Sihle Nduli,Tshepang Moremi, Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Yanela Mbuthuma. They also dropped the bomb of Oswin Appollis while they’re yet to announce the signing of Malian midfielder Abdoulaye Mariko.
It is not expected to be the end of the transfer business for neither of the Soweto Giants, however. According to The Citizen, both Chiefs and Pirates are interested in signing Cape Town City winger Jaedin Rhodes!
Both interested in Rhodes
“The 22-year-old (Rhodes) has previously been linked with Orlando Pirates, although a move never materialised and Comitis managed to keep hold of the highly-rated striker. However, the Mgosi Squad has been informed that both Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu are now in the race to secure Rhodes’ signature ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.” Wrote the publication.
A source speaking to the same publication had earlier predicted things would speed up after the playoffs. With it being over week since City played their last game in the playoffs. It is expected now that they will be looking to finalise their squad. They have already been looking to offload several senior players and top earners on their books. The next step could be trying to keep promising youngsters like Rhodes away from the likes of Chiefs and Pirates.
