Kaizer Chiefs new era is officially underway with a new captain set to lead the new-look Amakhosi.
Kaizer Chiefs are in the process of ushering the new era.
So, Amakhosi have a new captain and they have also made a couple of changes to their technical team.
KAIZER CHIEFS APPOINT NEW CAPTAIN AND VICE-CAPTAINS
Chiefs have appointed Inacio Miguel as their new captain.
He replaces Yusuf Maart. Meanwhile, Brandon Petersen and Zitha Kwinika are the new Chiefs vice-captains for the 2025/26 season.
Miguel will lead out the new era alongside several new faces. This is because Chiefs have 10 new faces – SIX new signings and FOUR players have been promoted to the senior side.
Flavio Silva, Nkanyiso Shinga, Ethan Chislett, Thabiso Monyane, Paseko Mako and Siphesihle Ndlovu have all signed for Amakhosi. Meanwhile, Naledi Hlongwane, Kabelo Nkgwesa, Thulani Mabaso and Manqoba Ozoemena have all been promoted to the first team.
“Also coming in has been Siphesihle Ndlovu, Ethan Chislett, Nkanyiso Shinga, Thabiso Monyane, and Paseka Mako while Thulani Mabaso, Naledi Hlongwane, Kabelo Nkgwesa, and Manqoba Ozoemena are some of those promoted,” the insider stated on KickOff.
NEW AMAKHOSI COACH STEPS UP ON AN INTERIM BASIS
Chiefs kick-started their 2025/26 season with a new coach on the sideline.
Khalil Ben Youssef, Amakhosi’s assistant coach, stepped up for Nasreddine Nabi.
Furthermore, he was joined by Cedirc Kaze, Amakhosi;s other assistant coach, on the sidelines.
This is because Nabi was unavailable as his wife was involved in an accident. So, Ben Youssef will be the new Chiefs coach until Nabi is available again.
