Kaizer Chiefs fans are used to seeing talent rise from the academy and shine under the big lights, and the conveyor belt is still rolling.
After Naledi Hlongwane’s promotion to the first team, another name is bubbling up: Shaun Els.
The striker graduated from the Under-19s and instantly turned heads in the DStv Diski Challenge. Kaizer Chiefs reserve coach Vela Khumalo believes Els has the tools to advance to the senior level.
VELA KHUMALO ON THE NEXT YOUNG KAIZER CHIEFS STRIKER
“There is Shaun Els. He is a striker who is coming from the Under-19s. He is one player that you need to see this season,” Khumalo told Soccer Laduma. “He is coming very very strong now that (Naledi) Hlongwane is going to the first team, he is going to be a very good replacement.
“He is giving Neo Bohloko a run for his money,” Khumalo added.
