Percy Tau won’t be joining Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates. Do Sundowns have a sniff of signing their former star?
Tau is a free agent after leaving Qatar SC.
The 31-year-old Bafana star has seemingly prohibitive wage demands.
Why Kaizer Chiefs won’t sign Tau
Kaizer Chiefs won’t be signing free agent Percy Tau, despite local speculation that the 31-year-old could be heading to Naturena.
“The team feels that, apparently, they believe they have learnt a lesson from the signing of Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly,”
“They paid a lot of money, but the club [Kaizer Chiefs] believes those returns were not worthy of it. So that’s why they are looking at other forward players apart from Percy Tau. So, for now, he is not one of the targets. But in football, you never know what will happen in future. But definitely not now.”
“Of course, there was a time when the club was interested in signing Percy Tau, and that was when he was about to leave Aly Ahly.”
“But no longer. Kaizer Chiefs’ technical team, as well as the recruitment department, have ruled out signing Percy Tau this time around. It’s apparently not in the coach’s plans at the moment. They pulled out of that race.”

Would you pay Tau R450,000 a month if you were in charge of a club?
