Chiefs are potentially getting Velebayi on a free transfer and promising 19-year-old striker Luke Baartman for a snip, possibly as little as R3 million. What a deal! Velebayi made 23 appearances in the 2023-2024 Betway Premiership season. Striker Baartman made nine league appearances in the same season, scoring twice. Baartman has a massive ceiling and wouldn’t represent an enormous financial risk in terms of outlay.

31-year-old Thibang ‘Cafu’ Phete is a versatile operator who can play as the hard man in midfield or in defence. Phete has dropped a strong hint that he’s ready to return home. Local outlet FARPost believe Sekhukhune are favourites to sign a man whose extensive experience includes stints in Portugal and the UAE. He has four caps for South Africa.
