Another big name under review is Reeve Frosler, whose contract is also set to expire. However, reports suggest that the pacey fullback may still have a future at the club, with negotiations said to be ongoing.

The future of club captain Yusuf Maart had looked uncertain, especially after receiving heavy criticism from fans throughout the season. But he silenced doubters in spectacular fashion, scoring the winning goal in the Nedbank Cup final.
Meanwhile, Edson Castillo, George Matlou, and Mduduzi Shabalala all face uncertain futures with their contracts expiring. Castillo’s season was marred by injury, while Shabalala, who made a strong start to the past season, is expected to stay.

With major continental ambitions on the horizon, the club must act decisively. A source that spoke to a publication called Sportswire said, “These players are not good enough.” Chiefs know they must invest in quality reinforcements, especially with their participation in the CAF Confederation Cup secured thanks to their Nedbank Cup success.
