Kaizer Chiefs are set to retain the services of skipper Yusuf Maart beyond the expiry of his contract on 30 June.
Maart, who has been with Amakhosi for three years, is reportedly in advanced talks to have his contract extended.
According to UnplayableZA sources, Maart will be on the plane to the Netherlands for Chiefs’ pre-season tour.
The news comes at a time when Chiefs are busy with their recruitment processes ahead of the new season.
They have already parted ways with four of their players from last season’s squad in Sabelo Radebe, Ranga Chivaviro, Njabulo Blom and most recently Edmilson Dove.
And while more players are expected to leave, Chiefs also ensuring that those who are in Nasreddine Nabi’s plans stay.
Maart has seven goals and eight assists in 95 competitive matches for the Glamour Boys.
