Karren Brady has shared a sneak peek at the Celebrity Apprentice Christmas special coming this festive season – and it looks set to be as haywire as BBC viewers have come to expect.

After several years with no celebrities taking on Lord Alan Sugar’s tough set of tasks, a fresh batch are whipping up cookies in the name of Children in Need.

The celebrities taking part are AJ Odudu, Angela Scanlon, Charlie Hedges, Eddie Kadi, Jake Wood, JB Gill, Kadeena Cox, Matt Morsia, Rob Rinder, Sarah Hadland, Shazia Mirza, and Tom Skinner, and they’ve been split into two teams.

The Baroness is one of the team leaders, with Mike Soutar standing in for Tim Campbell to head up her rivals. Karren has already admitted ‘it didn’t start very well’.

Rob Rinder was named project manager of her team and, from what Karren has said, did not gel well with his team member AJ Odudu.

‘Rather than use the time that they had in the meeting to decide their strategy, decide what they were going to do, what theme they were going to have, they all decided to say what was important about Christmas to them,’ Karren said ahead of the special.

‘Which of course is lovely, but it didn’t really help them when it came to organising themselves!

‘That’s where the tension started between him and AJ Odudu.

‘Rob, of course, is what you’d expect: smart, passionate, organised, absolutely determined to get the best out of everyone. And him and AJ sort of clashed because they had different views.’

The business executive went on to note that the celebrities were all intent on doing well in the challenge, particularly given that their efforts were in service of Children in Need.

But she also described her team as ‘chaotic at times’, even if she did commend Rob for his project management skills.

‘He’s got that great mix of sharp intelligence and dry humour,’ said Karren. ‘He did joke that his nan is scarier than Alan! I don’t think he’ll mind him saying that.’

The two-part special sees Lord Sugar send 12 would-be apprentices off to Lapland, where they are split into two teams and tasked with creating a delicious festive biscuit.

They are then up against the wire as they get to the jobs of marketing, pitching and selling their Christmas treats.

The two biscuits, one penguin and one Santa Claus, are now on sale at supermarkets, so you can be the judge of which teams will have the toughest job on their hands.

The Celebrity Apprentice Christmas special airs on iPlayer and BBC One on 29 and 30 December at 9pm.
