Katie Price’s new look confuses everyone as she ‘turns into a woman of colour’

Katie Price has baffled fans with her latest look after showing off a new hair look – and being hit with accusations of ‘blackfishing’.

The reality star, 47, is currently travelling to UK theatres with celebrity pal Kerry Katona and their An Evening With show, which went ahead despite reports to the contrary and has been branded as a ‘tell-all tour’.

But Katie still managed time to change up her look with a visit from celebrity hair colourist Dominic Ackah-Amihere to her dressing room.

The pair collaborated on a post which showed Dominic transforming the mum-of-five’s look with textured curls and a dark auburn and blonde balayage.

‘CUSTOM PIECE FOR Wella. P.S. we had 3 minutes to throw this on and conceal 26 inches of hair,’ the hair stylist captioned the post, which showed him adding the finishing touches with spray and posing with Katie for a photo.

But some of the I’m A Celebrity star’s 2.7million followers on Instagram were uncomfortable with her new look, which accompanied what appeared to be a fresh spray tan, deepening her skin tone.

‘Turning herself into a woman of colour now? What next?!’ commented Barbara Latford, while Nat Macfarlane Gray asked: ‘What in the blackface is going on here????’

‘Why are you looking black?? all love and respect tho Katie! You do you girl and do what you gotta do!!’ posted another fan, as @emmaknitty added: ‘What in the blackfish is going on here…’

‘Blackfishing’ is a term used when – usually – white people appropriate hairstyles, make-up and fashion from Black culture to alter their appearance and make them seem to be Black.

Grammy and Brit Award-nominated singer MNEK also left a comment of a string of exclamation marks, which seemed to signal his confusion.

However, many others defended Katie, with countless pointing out that her natural hair is curly.

‘You really suit that, you look amazing as always Katie,’ complimented Amanda, while @trishissmiling chimed in: ‘Katie’s hair is absolutely gorgeous. Crawl under a stone haters!’

‘WOW she can pull anything of she looks amazing as ever,’ enthused Chardonnay Lacey Alexis.

Dominic also took to Instagram to dismiss the backlash too.

‘The world has gone crazy 😳 I’m Black & she has a Black son, NO BLACKFISHING ROUND HERE HUNS 😘,’ he wrote.

Meanwhile, Katie’s tour has been hitting headlines as she and Kerry share revelations with a live audience.

Most recently she made a bold claim that she had once locked lips with none other than American rap icon Eminem.

According to The Sun, Price dropped the bombshell after an audience member asked about the most famous people she’s ever kissed.

Her answer didn’t disappoint. ‘Eminem,’ she allegedly replied, before moving swiftly on.

However, she’s also revealed painful scenarios from her past, including naming the TV star she claimed raped her over 20 years ago.

Price previously said she wouldn’t name her alleged attacker as of 2009 and 2012 – but reportedly changed her mind last year.

Metro was in the audience at the event when Katie made the shocking confession, which was met with stunned silence.

She has now described herself as feeling ‘overwhelmed’ by the messages of support she has since received.

Talking to sister Sophie on her podcast, The Katie Price Show, the celeb author listened as producer Ben read out messages from fans.

‘I’m so overwhelmed and so happy. I love all of those messages,’ she replied.

‘It is nice, inspiring and encouraging,’ she added.
