After nine years together and a daughter called Daisy, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have split up. The news came as a shock to pretty much everyone, who just assumed that Katy and Orlando were busy with their respective careers.
“Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,” a source told Us Weekly, adding that the break-up was “not contentious” so far. “Katy is, of course, upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”
According to that person, the split was “a long time coming” because things “have been tense” for months. Katy was reportedly keeping “busy” and “distracted” on her, let’s say, unique tour.
But according to a new source, the split was somewhat official at the start of 2025 – so why did they keep it very hush-hush?

Why did Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry keep their split a secret?
According to a new report from The Sun, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom split up in January and have been keeping it secret ever since. Why? To keep up appearances, of course.
“Katy confided in friends at the start of the year that their relationship was as good as done,” the insider told the publication. “They decided to hold off on announcing anything in case things improved between them, because they are desperate to stay together for the sake of their daughter.”
The brutal breakup couldn’t have come at a better time, though, with Katy desperately seeking to regain her popularity as Orlando worked on the upcoming film Bucking Fastard with Kate Mara, Rooney Mara, and Domhnall Gleeson.
The source continued: “But they have spent barely any time together this year, with Katy on tour and Orlando working on his upcoming film Bucking Fastard in Dublin. She knew that taking off her engagement ring would send a clear message.

“It’s been a hard year so far. They wanted to wait until the tour is over before they made their split official, although Katy has grown tired of the situation.”
Katy Perry’s The Lifetimes Tour kicked off in April to pretty shaky reviews, but despite her dwindling popularity, it’s set to continue well on into 2025. After Australian dates in June, she’s touring the States next, followed by Canada, South America, the UK, and mainland Europe. The final few dates, booked for December 2025, are in Japan, China, and the UAE.
Hopefully, we won’t have to wait until December for an official statement.
