The retailer’s Cyber Week event features select winter jackets and outdoor gear on sale up until Dec. 8 in some cases. One product we were surprised to see during this stretch: Keen’s waterproof Targhee hiking shoes, and they’re over $40 off.
The Keen Targhee IV Waterproof Hiking Shoes are on sale for $127, a 25% discount from their normal price of $149. Don’t let its low-top design fool you: The Targhee IV is built like a tank. The upper features nubuck leather and mesh with lots of padding around the ankle and on the tongue for a snug, comfortable fit.
At the front, it’s capped with a massive toe bumper to protect your foot from bumps and scrapes, and inside, it’s lined with a waterproof membrane to block splashes, mud, and moisture. A LuftCell polyurethane foam insole combines with a LuftCell air-injected polyurethane foam midsole for shock absorption, and a sturdy heel counter at the back of the upper keeps your feet in place as you walk.
It all rides on a hefty lugged TPU outsole that’s twice as durable as rubber, according to Keen. The outsole also features one key update compared to previous versions of this model: It’s fused to the upper, rather than glued, which makes it more durable and less likely to detach (shoppers note this as a key highlight in the reviews).
