Kick off times for next Springbok Tests as one more game added

The Springboks are currently enjoying a brief break before heading into the very serious business of preparing for the Rugby Championship, which kicks off on 16 August.

After three convincing wins over Italy (twice) and Georgia to start the Test season, the Springboks are set to have at least 10 more fixtures to look forward to this year.

However, it’s well know that SA Rugby were looking to add at least one more fixture to the team’s schedule as Rassie Erasmus has made it clear that the more game time the better this season.

According to SARugbymag.co.za, the Springboks are now set to face Japan in Brighton on 1 November in what will effectively serve as a ‘warm-up’ to the end-of-year tour.

REMINDER OF THE REMAINING SPRINGBOK SCHEDULE FOR 2025:

  • 16 August: vs Australia, Ellis Park, Johannesburg. Kick off: 17:10.
  • 23 August: vs Australia, DHL Stadium, Cape Town. Kick off: 17:10.
  • 6 September: vs New Zealand, Auckland. Kick off: 09:05.
  • 13 September: vs New Zealand, Wellington. Kick off: 09:05.
  • 27 September: vs Argentina, Kings Park, Durban. Kick off: 17:10.
  • 4 October: vs Argentina, London. Kick off: 15:00.
  • 1 November: vs Japan, Brightin. Kick off: TBD.
  • 8 November: vs France, Paris. Kick off: 22:10.
  • 15 November: vs Italy, Turin. Kick off: 14:40
  • 22 November: vs Ireland, Dublin. Kick off: 19:40.
  • 29 November: vs Wales, Cardiff. Kick off: 17:10.

The game against Japan is certainly one of those games where Erasmus would be able to hand out some debuts and select an experimental side to continue expanding the squad.

“This will be a tough season for us in terms of Tests, just looking at our draw,” Rassie Erasmus commented earlier this year. “We had a tough 2022, but now having 14 ir 15 matches, I think it is only the second time in history that we have it.

“I think 2007 had 17 matches. It will be the first one in a long time, but we need them.”
