Kim Kardashian has addressed why photos of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were deleted from Instagram following her mum Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday celebration.
In November last year, famous faces like Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Justin Bieber and long-time friend Paris Hilton were all in attendance at the Kardashian matriarch’s party.
However, in the aftermath of the event, pictures of Meghan and Harry posing with the birthday girl were quickly scrubbed from the internet.
Now, appearing on sister Khloe Kardashian’s podcast Khloe In Wonder Land, Kim has opened the lid on why the picture was deleted.
The Skims founder, 45, said: ‘It was really innocent, which is so crazy. Mom and Meghan have been friends for some years now, and they have a really sweet relationship.’
Kim went on to explain how the Sussexes had initially given the green light for images to be taken and shared publicly.
However, Kim explained: ‘After it was posted, I think they realized it was Remembrance Day, and they didn’t want to be seen at a party, even though it’s already up, you know, and then taken down.
‘And then I think they realized, like, “Oh, this was so silly.”‘
The reality star added that Meghan and Prince Harry, who was wearing a poppy badge, were photographed attending the Baby2Baby charity gala the same evening.
”That was fine,’ she said. ‘But maybe not partying and dancing on the dance floor or whatever. So we took them down to respect Remembrance Day.’
The glitzy affair was the place to be in Hollywood at the time, as it was hosted by Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez at their $165,000,000 Beverly Hills home.
This comes after it was reported earlier this month that Harry has won his fight for private security when he is in the UK.
The Duke of Sussex went through a lengthy battle with the Home Office to confirm whether he meets the threshold for official protection.
This has been a long-running issue for Harry, 41, who said the loss of his full-time security in the UK makes it ‘impossible’ to bring his wife, Meghan Markle, and children to visit because of safety concerns.
On January 17, Meghan also posted an intimate video showing her and Harry dancing and embracing, filmed by Princess Lilibet.
The Duchess of Sussex revealed a glimpse of the family’s guarded life in California in a clip shared on her Instagram.
