King’s College London has ranked amongst the top 20 universities in the UK, according to the latest rankings released by the Complete University Guide.
The ranking evaluates 130 UK universities across four key areas including entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, and graduate prospects.
In the 2026 table, King’s claimed the 19th spot with an overall score of 76 per cent, which is an increase of five places from the 24th position in 2025.
King’s also achieved an impressive score of 86 per cent in the research quality category and 84 per cent for graduate prospects.
The entry standards category saw King’s receive a score of 78 per cent, while student satisfaction was rated lower at 74 per cent.
In a move that surprised absolutely no one, the University of Cambridge claimed the top spot with an overall score of 100 per cent. Whilst the University of Oxford came in a close second with a score of 98 per cent.
Other London universities that ranked highly included LSE in the third spot and Imperial in the sixth position. Yet King’s long standing rival, UCL, claimed the 13th spot, suppressing us by six places.
However, this is down by four places for UCL, so at least we have that to hold against them.
The Complete University Guide also ranked universities by subject, with King’s seeing 17 of it’s subjects place in the top 10. Not bad I must say. But if you study classics then you’ve really struck gold as King’s has climbed into the top five for the subject. So, don’t be surprised when classics students start slipping this into every conversation.
