“We will see, God willing, what will happen in six months. We are already seeing what is happening now. We’re seeing what happened a year ago, two years ago”said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov at the daily telephone press conference.
“We are currently analyzing sanctions. Obviously, we will do what is in our best interests. This is the key to our actions. We do not act against anyone, but in favor of ourselves. This is what we will do”he stated.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday called the sanctions a “hostile act”but denied that they have an impact “significant” in the national economy.
Putin, who warned that sanctions do not contribute to improving Russian-American relationsalso stated that the goal of the United States is “exert pressure” about the Kremlin and predicted an increase in oil prices on the international market.
Trump had admitted the new meetingbut ended up considering that it would be a waste of time then spoke on the phone with Putin shortly before receiving the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyon October 17th.
