Fans of Last One Laughing are not laughing at all for a particular reason after the unveiling of the season 2 cast.
Jimmy Carr will return to host the Amazon Prime Video series for its second outing in 2026, following an incredibly successful debut in March.
Season 1 saw 10 top UK comedians compete to make others laugh while keeping a straight face themselves (nope, they can’t even smile), with beloved funny man Bob Mortimer triumphing and receiving the LOL UK trophy.
He’ll be back to fight for his title again, while a fresh batch of opponents do everything in their power to defeat him.
The nine comics taking part in season 2 are David Mitchell, Mel Giedroyc, Alan Carr, Romesh Ranganathan, Amy Gledhill, Maisie Adam, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Sam Campbell, and Diane Morgan.
Meanwhile, season 1 starred Daisy May Cooper, Joe Lycett, Judi Love, Rob Beckett, Sara Pascoe, Lou Sanders, Joe Wilkinson, Harriet Kemsley, and Richard Ayoade.

Production for season 2 is currently underway, but concerned comedy fanatics have taken to social media in droves to complain ahead of its release, feeling like it’s always the same faces being signed for these gigs.
‘If you wasn’t into comedy and only saw it on tv you’d genuinely think there’s about 20 comedians in the UK’, wrote X user @tomnestorcomic.
@semiskimmedmilf quipped sarcastically: ‘nice to see loads of fresh faces on the UK comedy scene :)’
‘This would be 10x better with comedians who aren’t on the tv 5 nights a week’, blasted @MaccaLiv19.
@ChrisQ_1 also raised another point, writing: ‘Calling it “LOL UK” and not having any Scottish, NI or Welsh comedians on it is really poor. Don’t get me wrong, everyone on it is great. But not having a single one from outside England shows a complete lack of understanding or interest in the great comedians across the UK.’
But it wasn’t all pessimistic, as there was still plenty of excitement for the next instalment, with @raggedydocs declaring it ‘another banger of a cast’.

‘OK I am all for the new Last One Laughing line up!’, said @blissfulfiction.
Fans are also getting their early predictions in, and it seems they’re pretty confident about 1) who will win and 2) who doesn’t stand a chance.
‘Alan Carr will not last one episode’, stated @dnjmsprry and, honestly? We don’t think it’d take much to crack him.
‘If Would I lie to you is anything to go by when Bob’s on it, David Mitchell will last all of a minute’, predicted @KarenFaz, with Bob having become a real national treasure thanks to his unbelievable—yet somehow, always true—anecdotes on the panel show.
As for who might prosper, @SeaThundr said Diane Morgan will put in an ‘incredible’ performance, while @Farah_Lou is adamant it’ll be a two-horse race between her and Bob.
The first season of LOL UK was a phenomenal success, with the format already adapted internationally in Australia, Mexico, Germany, and Canada. It originated in Japan.

Within its first 28 days of availability on Prime Video, the programme acquired 6.1million viewers, establishing it as one of the streamer’s most successful original series.
It surpassed the video game adaptation of Fallout and its five million figure debut in April, but remains behind Clarkson’s Farm, of which the third season launched to 7.7m viewers—can LOL UK’s second series dethrone Jeremy?
Viewers admitted season 1 had them ‘crying with laughter’; hence, it didn’t take long for a second to be green-lit.
While an official premiere date has not been confirmed yet, it’s believed to be early next year.
Last One Laughing UK season 1 is available to stream now on Amazon Prime Video. Season 2 will land in early 2026.
