“His entire life has been conducted along that line: of deceiving, swindling, taking advantage of people. The day he kicked Emma Santos’ door he also denied that it was him, he said that the video was edited,” the lawyer said in an interview with “Los Periodistas”, a program that is broadcast through the SinEmbargo Al Aire YouTube channel.

Simón Levy Dabbah, former federal and capital official, said in a telephone interview with However that he was never arrested, that he is in Washington, where – he said – he suffered an attack, and that he is free. However, he did not confirm that he is actually in the United States (EU).

In that sense, Fuentes pointed out that Levy tried to present himself as a victim again by stating that “he suffered an attack and was shot twice,” in addition to falsely claiming that he was in Washington.

“Not only did he lie about his whereabouts, but he added an emotional component to victimize himself. Today it was completely exposed, as were the media that lent itself to spreading his falsehoods,” he said.

And he noted: “He must be in jail. He is in Portugal and was staying in that hotel. He cannot leave Lisbon because if he leaves the Portuguese authority will issue an arrest warrant.”

The lawyer also revealed that, before leaving the country, Levy filed an amparo with the aim of avoiding his extradition, although he did it in the wrong way.

“He is so crude and clumsy as a lawyer that he presented an injunction in Mexico against being extradited, as if that had effect outside the country. He did not even understand that they had not granted him the suspension, that is why they detained him,” said Fuentes.

According to Emma Santos’ representative, the arrest of Simón Levy confirms a pattern of “deception, cynicism and manipulation” that, he said, has accompanied him for years and that has now “been exposed to everyone.”

This day, lawyer Juan Fuentes confirmed with a video that Simón Levy recorded interviews with Mexican media from a hotel in Portugal, and is not in Washington DC, as he repeatedly stated in recent days.

The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico clarified on Wednesday afternoon that Simón Levy Dabbah, a former federal and capital official, was detained by the International Criminal Police Organization, better known as Interpol, in Portugal, where a Court ordered his release by imposing precautionary measures, including permanence and identity control, while his nationality status is verified and his surrender to the Mexican authorities is resolved.

At the same time, he highlighted that the Government of Mexico maintains communication with the Portuguese authorities to follow up on the case, in accordance with international legal cooperation and extradition mechanisms.

Meanwhile, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo presented this Thursday a new official document issued by the Portuguese authorities to confirm the arrest of Simón Levy, a former federal and Mexico City official.

The letter, dated in the city of Lisbon, notifies that the former public servant was arrested by the Portuguese police when he entered that country, in compliance with an international arrest warrant issued by Interpol.

“Citizen Simón ‘N’ was detained on October 28, 2025 upon entering national territory by virtue of an international arrest warrant, having been presented before the Court of Appeal of Lisbon,” states the email read by the president.

President Sheinbaum insisted that Simón Levy was captured in Portugal and presented to the authorities of that nation; however, because he has dual nationality, Mexican and a European country, he was released, but will not be able to leave Portuguese territory.
