Let’s promote Charlie Kirk’s ‘legacy of peaceful, respectful dialogue’ – FF Plus

The Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) has condemned the fatal shooting of United States (US) President Donald Trump’s ally, Charlie Kirk.

The party described his killing as an attack on conservative values and norms. Kirk, the 31-year-old co-founder of Turning Point USA, was known for his far-right political stance and controversial views.

He was gunned down while addressing an audience at Utah Valley University. Despite his polarising opinions, the FF Plus maintains that Kirk’s legacy was built on “peaceful and respectful dialogue.”

PARTY CONDEMNS KIRK’S KILLING

Party leader Dr Corné Mulder said the killing showed that “the enemies of sound and conservative schools of thought” had no leg to stand on. He added that Kirk remained steadfast in defending his principles against what he called liberal and woke ideologies.

Mulder noted that the FF Plus upholds the same principles Kirk championed, which he described as cultural conservatism and traditional family values. He urged South Africans to work towards building a better country by promoting Kirk’s legacy.

His comments come despite strong opposition to Kirk’s beliefs in South Africa. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) described his death as a casualty of the very system he supported – US gun laws. The party said Kirk’s killing held up “a mirror to US culture.”

Kirk was previously quoted saying some gun deaths are worth the cost of having the Second Amendment to “protect our other God-given rights.” President Trump also has hailed Kirk as “a martyr for truth and freedom”. He blamed his ally’s death on “radical left-wing politics.”

KIRK ACCUSED OF INCITING FEAR IN SA

Meanwhile, political analyst Professor Mark van Staden from the University of Johannesburg told The Star that Kirk had used South Africa’s history to incite fear. He accused Kirk of spreading false claims about white genocide in the country, calling such rhetoric dangerous.
