Mexico’s work calendar still has some days of mandatory rest before the end of 2025, and November is one of the most important months for those who are excitedly awaiting extra income, since it includes an official holiday that, if worked, must be paid triple in accordance with the Federal Labor Law (LFT).
In accordance with article 74 of the LFT, Workers who provide services during an official day of rest have the right to receive double the additional salary to the normal one, that is, triple the daily salary.
Holidays that will come with extra payment in November 2025
During November 2025, Monday the 17th it will be official day of rest in commemoration of the Mexican Revolution, a date that was originally celebrated on November 20, but due to the work calendar, it is moved to the third Monday of the month to encourage long weekends or “bridges.”
This means that Those who work that day must receive triple paymentwhile those who rest will enjoy an extended weekend from Saturday, November 15 to Monday, November 17.
Other important days of the month, although not rest days
This month also marks highly anticipated dates such as Day of the Dead (November 1 and 2), however, are not considered days of mandatory rest, so the extra payment will depend on internal agreements between employees and employers.
Even so, many companies, schools and public offices usually grant long weekends or special breaks during these dates, although this year they coincide with weekends.
How many holidays are left in 2025?
After November, The last holiday of the year will be Thursday, December 25, corresponding to Christmas, which is also paid triple if you work.
Then, the next official break will come on Thursday, January 1, 2026, a date that marks the start of the new work year.
In short, November offers an additional opportunity for those who work during the long weekend of the Mexican Revolution, with the benefit of a triple payment under the LFT. Furthermore, the Day of the Dead celebrations and the December holidays make this period one of the most anticipated stages for both workers and the tourism sector.
