Lil Nas X had fans concerned when news broke of his arrest after a late-night encounter with police in Los Angeles in August. The rapper was detained by authorities and later charged with three felony counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer.
On Monday, his attorney, Drew Findling, presented in court as the judge made modified changes to the rapper’s arrest so he could seek out-of-state treatment in an undisclosed location. Findling explains they are not due in court for several months, with Lil Nas X’s bail set at $75,000 and the next court date set for November 18.
In a video by Rolling Stone outside the courthouse, Findling explains their main concern is LilNas X’s overall health and well-being. As well as surrounding him with family, friends, and support.
“We’re doing what is best for Montero from a personal standpoint and a professional standpoint, but most importantly for his well-being. He is surrounded by an amazing family, an amazing team of people that care about him and love him. We’re just addressing those issues. It’s really as simple as that,” he said.
He added that the event that occurred in August is a “bump that he’s gonna get over” and has a “great life,” with his family making sure the rapper addresses his “issues.”

Lil Nas X is currently allowed to remain out of state, as long as he stays in treatment. During the time of his arrest, police suspected the rapper was under the influence of drugs and sent him to the hospital for a possible overdose.
There is currently no confirmed evidence that Lil Nas X was under the influence of drugs, with his father and lawyer denying that he was using.
