Lily Allen shares how she thinks David Harbour would react to her savage new album

Lily Allen’s brutal new album came out last week, which seems to share the story of her relationship with David Harbour. In a new interview, she touches on how she thinks he would react.

West End Girl, Lily’s latest album, has exploded in popularity. The album talks about lots of relationship issues, from feeling like you’re “sleepwalking” through a marriage, to handling betrayal and alleged cheating. Lily has been praised for her honesty on this album and its amazing storytelling.

David Harbour hasn’t publicly responded to the cheating allegations yet.

Talking to Interview, she was asked how she thinks her ex-husband would react to the album.

“I try not to think about that,” she said.

Lily’s opened up about how painful their breakup was, and using the songwriting process to help her heal.

“It’s not a cruel album,” she continued. “I don’t feel like I’m being mean. It was just the feelings I was processing at the time.”

The 40-year-old recorded the album over an intense 10 days, locked in the recording studio with her executive producer, Blue. These sessions were her first proper attempt at making music since her last album in 2018. While writing the West End Girl songs, Lily shared she’d have new realisations on past events, connecting dots.

“I feel very differently about the whole situation now,” she said about the split. “We all go through breakups, and it’s always brutal. But I don’t think it’s that often that you feel inclined to write about it while you’re in it.”

She continued: “At the time, I was really trying to process things and that’s great in terms of the album, but I don’t feel confused or angry now. I don’t need revenge.”

Lily has now moved on, and has even started using dating apps – but she’s already been banned form Hinge for impersonating herself.

“I’m like, ‘I can prove that I’m that person’ and they’re like, ‘You’ll need to send us your ID.’ And I’m like, ‘Actually my name and the name on my ID aren’t the same’.”
