Two years after Lily Allen and David Harbour invited cameras into their Brooklyn townhouse, the 2023 house tour has resurfaced, and now that the property is up for sale and Lily’s new album, West End Girl, is out, people are revisiting the clip with a very different perspective.
The late-19th-century brownstone where the now ex-couple once gave a tour of their home is listed for $8 million (£6m). Thanks to Lily’s new album, West End Girl, the internet can’t stop watching the old video and connecting dots that weren’t obvious before.

The home is in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, a leafy, family-friendly area that Lily once called her “fresh start.” She and the Stranger Things actor bought it in 2020 for $3.3 million (£2.5m). They worked with designer Billy Cotton and architect Ben Bischoff to make a home that feels both English and New York-style.
Across four floors, the brownstone has:
- Five bedrooms and four bathrooms
- A grand living room with hand-painted Zuber wallpaper
- A fireplace
- Glass doors leading to a private garden with a sauna and cold plunge pool
The kitchen, which Lily showed off in the video, has Plain English cabinetry, a large island, and custom seating. It’s the kind of kitchen made for quiet moments and comfort.
Upstairs, the main suite has two walk-in wardrobes, a second fireplace, and an office for privacy. Downstairs, the basement has a gym, laundry room, and plenty of storage.

On her new album West End Girl, Lily sings about moving from London to New York and the eventual breakdown of her marriage. The lyrics have people looking at the house in a whole new way.
New comments on the resurfaced video reference songs on the album, including West End Girl, Madeline, P*ssy Palace, and 4chan stan.
In the opening track, she sings, “And now we’re all here, we’ve moved to New York / We’ve found a nice little rental near a sweet little school / Now I’m looking at houses with four or five floors / And you’ve found us a brownstone, said ‘You want it? It’s yours’ / So we went ahead and we bought it, found ourselves a good mortgage / Billy Cotton got sorted, all the furniture ordered / I could never afford this / You were pushing it forward, made me feel a bit awkward…”
People are now connecting these lyrics to the brownstone and the 2023 video, seeing the house as part of the story Lily tells in her songs.
‘The most cursed AD tour of all time’
According to the US Sun, the couple co-owned the townhouse under two trusts and spent thousands on renovations. One permit alone cost nearly $283,000. After they split last December, Lily moved back to London with her daughters, leaving the house behind.
Now that it’s officially for sale and the video has resurfaced, people are jokingly calling it “the most cursed AD tour of all time.”
Still, whoever buys it will get a beautiful Brooklyn home, and a piece of pop culture history. Even the prettiest homes can hold memories.
The tour video has aged like milk
When Lily and David filmed the Architectural Digest tour in 2023, viewers thought it was just a peek into their married life. After Lily’s new album, which includes songs about infidelity like Madeline, the clip feels almost prophetic. In the track, she even sings a line that seems to refer to the house itself, “I’m not convinced that he didn’t f**k you in our house.”
At the start of the video, David answers the door and jokingly greets the camera crew as if they were an ex. At the time, it was a laugh. Now, in the context of Lily’s lyrics, it’s almost painfully ironic.
