Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley has been very busy recently recording a new show.

The star has played the role of Mandy Dingle in the ITV soap on and off since 1995.

The character is the wife of Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) and mum to Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson). Mandy works at the local salon, and is often seen in the middle of typical Dingle family drama.

Just like her soap alter-ego, Lisa lives a very busy life. Recently, she took to Instagram to confirm that she’s been quite busy with a project away from the soap.

The picture Lisa shared on her feed sees her wearing headphones and smiling into the camera next to a microphone. She confirmed in the caption that she’s been recording the voice over for a Channel 5 show.

Lisa wrote: ‘After a busy morning @emmerdale I have had the most wonderful afternoon in the recording booth @theotherplanetmedia with the lovely @maddiknibbs voicing the upcoming new series @boomcymru “SKIN A&E” look out for when it’s coming to @channel5_tv.’

The star has narrated the series for quite a while now. Channel 5 has so far aired six seasons of Skin A&E, which follows a group of dermatologists who work hard on saving our skin through life-changing operations and treatments.

Over in Emmerdale, Mandy and Paddy are currently getting to know young Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle).

The teenager, who is friends with April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) returned to the village a few days ago, and was allowed to stay the night at Tenants once Paddy realised he was sleeping rough.

While Mandy and Paddy make an effort to look after Dylan, they remain unaware that he is working for a drug dealer called Ray Walters (Joe Absolom).

Mandy also doesn’t know at the moment that her son Vinny is going through a confusing time, as he tries to address his sexuality and work out who he really is.

Vinny has been left overwhelmed after almost kissing his friend Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah). He has tried to pretend there wasn’t something to address, but Vinny’s feelings towards his pal have been too difficult to ignore.

The rest of this article contains spoilers from tonight’s episode of Emmerdale.

In the instalment of the ITV soap that airs this evening, but is now available on ITVX, Vinny invites Mike over, who he met on an LGBTQI+ forum.

Vinny was comfortable around Mike, because he was led to believe they were both in similar boats. Sadly though, Mike’s true side was revealed – and his aim was not to help Vinny come to terms with his sexuality.

At Vinny’s house, Mike started to suggest that Vinny fancies him. He denied this and was confused, but Mike reckoned that Vinny had invited him over because he wanted them to sleep together.

It was at this point Vinny started to realise that the man he had told some very private thoughts to was a completely different person in reality. He tried to run out of the house in fear, but Mike stopped him from leaving.

The next time we saw Vinny he was getting brutally attacked by Mike. He was laying on the floor in tears, curled up and shaking, a shell of the man we’ve grown to love.

Mike wanted money from Vinny, but he also spied the wedding rings on the side and was very interested in them.

As the episode drew to a close, Vinny looked at himself in the mirror as he tried to come to terms with what had just happened. We then flashbacked to a few years ago, when Vinny’s biological father Paul (Reece Dinsdale) would physically abuse him if he tried to stand up to his dad.

Vinny stood in the house all alone in tears.

Given the state of the house, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) will more than likely discover what happened to some extent, but whether Vinny says what really happened remains to be seen.

‘I think he’s just a confused, a confused man at the minute’, star Bradley Johnson said.

‘I think the connection with Kammy is definitely real, it might be pansexuality, where you fancy the personality rather than the person.

‘I know I keep saying it but he’s severely confused, and doesn’t know what he wants, but he knows he’s got that connection with Kammy. He’s confused about why that is, and he’s just trying to wrap his brain around it.’
