Right before Alima Gagigo was brutally dumped from Love Island, sparks were flying between her and Ben Holbrough. ITV viewers were a bit surprised by this, since Alima seems like a total sweetheart, and Ben seems… well, we all saw him call Yasmin “irrelevant” and shout she needed to be “humbled”. Alima has opened up about what Ben was really like inside the Love Island villa, and it sounds like his behaviour was totally different to what we all saw on TV. I did not expect that.
“I think Ben is a very misunderstood guy. He doesn’t express himself in the best way sometimes. In the villa you could see there was a character development to him. I think he calmed down a bit and apologised to all the girls he needed to apologise to after everything that happened.
This is huge, because we didn’t get to see Ben apologise to Yasmin or anybody else. If we saw this on TV, I bet we’d all think differently about Ben.

Alima continues. “There’s a softer side to him. He’s actually a very nice boy. He was there for me a lot in the villa. It’s a shame we didn’t get to explore things more.”
She would be interested in getting to know Ben more in the real world. “I want to see how he acts now that I’m not there and if he finds a connection. If he comes back single I would be interested in seeing if there’s something we could continue.”
