Love Island’s Harry finallu addresses where he stands with Dejon after awkward Helena split

On the latest episode of Joe Bagg’s podcast Not My Bagg, Love Island’s Harry spilt the juicy details of his relationship with Dejon, the rumoured tension after he got back with Shakira, and his opinions on Meg and Dejon’s relationship.

The Love Island finalist was originally part of the Meg and Helena side of the friendship divide. When his relationship with Helena joined Meg and Dejon as the only two couples to go exclusive in the villa, it made their bond even stronger. But in the final stretch of the show, things took a sharp turn when Harry and Shakira reignited their romance.

Fans noticed that after his dramatic split with Helena, Harry was rarely on screen with Meg or Dejon. This sparked rumours that there had been a rift in their friendship group. Shakira and Meg made it very clear in the villa that they didn’t like each other, leaving no room for a new friend group. But Harry was quick to squash any rumours of animosity between the boys.

“There was no change with me and D’s relationship when I got back with Shakira,” Harry said. He explained that although Dejon was very close to Helena, the bond between the two boys remained strong.

“I cried when I watched him go…we were really close,” he said.

Harry did confirm that on the night he split with Helena, none of the boys, including Dejon, were talking to him. This hard to watch scene had even the loudest Harry haters feeling sorry for him.

He still hasn’t talked to Helena since coming out of the villa but plans to.

Harry admitted he’s seen clips of Meg and Dejon’s relationship, but said in the moment he was really rooting for them. The friendship divide seems to have continued post-villa, as the finalists have been spotted hanging out together, while Meg, Dejon, Harrison and Lauren have splintered off into their own group.

He acknowledged the divide with the girls, but like many other islanders, he believes it was overblown.
