For fans Hung Up on Madonna’s older albums, you’re in for a real treat as the Queen of Pop has announced she’s getting back Into The Groove and releasing a dance album in 2026 – and it’s going to ‘provoke a few needed conversations’.
The Like A Prayer hitmaker, 67, is due to be a follow-up of her 2005 album Confessions on a Dancefloor, and work’s been happening behind the scenes since late last year at least.
It will be Madonna’s first record since 2019’s Madame X, and her 15th studio album over a career spanning four decades since she sashayed onto the world’s stage with Holiday in 1983.
It’s an even bigger moment for Madonna, as for this album she has re-signed with Warner Records, where she spent the first three decades of her career.
‘From being a struggling artist in New York City to signing a record deal to release just three singles, it seemed at the time my world would never be the same again and in fact that couldn’t have been truer,’ Madonna said in a statement.

‘Since the beginning, Warner Records has been a real partner with me. I am happy to be reunited and look forward to the future, making music, doing the unexpected while perhaps provoking a few needed conversations.’
Warner Records said: ‘Madonna isn’t just an artist—she’s the blueprint, the rule-breaker, the ultimate cultural juggernaut.
‘We are honored to welcome Madonna, the best-selling female artist of all time with over 400 million albums sold, back home to Warner Records for her highly anticipated, upcoming new dance album.
‘This signing represents a historic, full circle moment, one that brings her back to the label where it all began and reaffirms her unparalleled influence, setting the stage for an exciting new era of creativity and impact.’
Alongside the announcement, Madonna released some sultry snaps of her in baby pink lingerie and fishnet tights, looking totally ageless.

Fans were delighted with the news, as faiella_francesca said: ‘THE QUEEN IS COMING BACK.’
‘I can’t stop crying, MUCHAS GRACIAS motha!’ said mexicancoconut.
wanderson.petrova added: ‘You are so incredible, stunning and visionary! I love you so much, I’m immensely happy and inspired, thank you @madonna for never giving up.’
Some of Madonna’s biggest hits – Like A Virgin and Like A Prayer – were released under the Warner umbrella in the 1980s.
Madonna didn’t land a full record deal with Warner when she started out in 1982, but just £11,000 per single for a three-single deal.
10 years later, Madonna turned this trickle of opportunity into a £45million advance from Warner – and formed her own multi-media entertainment company, Maverick – setting the bar for pop’s most lucrative deals.

On top of that, Madonna was offered a £3.7mil advance and a 20% royalty for each of her next seven albums.
They don’t call her the Queen of Pop for nothing…
In December Madonna said being in the studio with long-time collaborator Stuart Price had been ‘medicine for [her] soul’.
‘Songwriting and making music is the one area where I don’t need to ask anyone for their permission.. I’m so excited to share it with you. Who wants to hear new music in 2025! 🎄🎹🤶🏻’ she said.
Stuart Price was a key collaborator on Madonna’s 2005 album, Confessions on a Dance Floor which includes the lead single Hung Up and other hits Sorry, Get Together and Jump.
The album is the singer’s sixth-highest-ranking album and was even partially recorded at Price’s home in London.
