On board the cruise ship Amy Bradley vanished from was a video editor, who used some of the CCTV footage in his work. He was one of the first people to see the final known footage of Amy Bradley, and has revealed what stood out about it to him.
Amy Bradley was 23 when she vanished, and had been on a family holiday on a Royal Caribbean ship. On a night in March 1988, she and her brother had been out at a club on board, and returned to the family cabin in the early hours. When Amy’s father went to check on her in the morning, on March 23rd 1998, Amy wasn’t there.
Footage shared on YouTube showed Amy Bradley on the night out, right before her disappearance. The clip is from CCTV on the boat, and very clearly shows Amy on the dance floor, alongside “Yellow” – the name Alister Douglas, who was part of a band on the ship, went by. After this, Amy could be seen dancing near an elevator.

The video was uploaded by Chris Fenwick, an editor who had been working on the ship at the time. “My job was to produce an entertaining video for my client [Royal Caribbean]. The video was to be shown on the last night of the cruise,” he explained in a blog post. “Because of the nature of editing in this short turn around environment, I spent nearly the entire duration of the cruise in my cabin working.”
Chris explained that on the morning Amy Bradley went missing, rumours began to circulate the ship regarding what had happened. He worked closely with a video engineer called Steve, who he claimed told him had “been instructed by ship security to make sure that there were no images of the missing girl in his ‘Cruise Video’, the type of videotape that you would buy at the end of your cruise showing all the great things that you had done all week on board.”
Chris recalled hearing rumours about Alister “Yellow” Douglas. Yellow has always denied he had any involvement in Amy’s disappearance, nor knows what happened to her.
Chris explained, the day after Amy went missing: “I took a break from my work to go to the disco on the 11th deck of the boat and have a soda and watch the people dance. I remember seeing Yellow around the disco and I vividly remember thinking, ‘Wow, there is that guy that they think took the girl, he looks kind of creepy’.”

He added: “I returned to my room and began scanning through tapes that would have been shot on that night. Amazingly enough on the last tape of the night and the last shot on the tape, there was indeed a shot of Amy dancing on the dance floor, the part that was really creepy to me was that the shot revealed that Amy was dancing with Yellow.”
Chris handed the tapes over to the Bradley family, and was later informed they had passed them over to authorities. He later claimed the tapes themselves went missing.
Speaking of what he thought of the CCTV footage, Chris said: “The images on the tape are interesting and quite frankly kind of creepy, however the pictures are not the most interesting thing about the video tape. What is more interesting is the tapes’ story, it’s journey, and its eventual disappearance.
“In the summer of 1999 I made another copy of the tape for the Bradleys. I have spoken with Iva [Amy’s mother] several times over the last few years.”
Alister Douglas was questioned by the FBI, and took a polygraph test. To this day, he maintains his innocence and has never been charged with any crimes.
