Marty Supreme Frenzy Erupts as Timothée Chalamet Fans Flood LA Pop-Up

Timothée Chalamet‘s new movie has a lot of buzz. Critical reviews have made its Rotten Tomatoes score almost-perfect, Chalamet turned up in an orange suit with Kylie Jenner at his side for the Los Angeles premiere, he engaged in a viral dance, and fans deluged a pop-up filled with Marty Supreme merch.

Excited fans linked up in Los Angeles at the pop-up shop on December 8 to score the Marty Supreme merchandise, such as windbreakers with a high resale value, but the crowds soon swelled so large that police showed up. No citations were issued, according to TMZ, but the police were concerned enough about the frenzy that they requested additional units at the scene. Chalamet plays Marty Mauser, who is striving to be a table tennis champion, in a film already generating Oscar talk.

Fans Posted Videos Showing People Lined Up Outside the Timothée Chalamet Pop-Up

A fan video shows a line snaking down the street 17 hours before the pop-up opened. Another person watched out a window, writing on X, “Feeling like Tracy in Good Morning Baltimore, but it’s la, and instead of getting flashed by John Waters, it’s opening up my window to the Marty Supreme pop-up line across the street.”

According to KTLA-TV, the pop-up was open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in East Hollywood. Some of the merchandise is reselling for large dollar amounts, the television station reported, which could help explain the long lines. The pop-up “will offer limited-edition jackets and merchandise. The ‘Marty Supreme’-branded windbreakers run for $250 a piece but are expected to resell for thousands,” KTLA-TV reported.

Videos also went viral on X that showed the inside of the pop-up. One person who shared a video alleged, “Another fight almost broke out at the Marty Supreme pop-up in Los Angeles as a reseller was taunting a guy in line.”

Another fan wrote, “Just got out the Marty Supreme pop-up… 21 hours after lining up.”

Timothée Chalamet Showed Up With Kylie Jenner at a Premiere Held the Same Day as the Pop-Up

The Los Angeles premiere of the movie took place the same day as the pop-up, and Chalamet showed up with his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner. They wore “matching custom Chrome Hearts bright orange ensembles,” People reported.

According to People, Chalamet and Jenner have dated since 2023, but the premiere marked only the second time they’ve appeared on the red carpet together. They previously attended the 70th David Di Donatello Awards together in Rome, People reported.

The movie does not premiere until Christmas Day. However, reviews for it are already strong. Critics on Rotten Tomatoes have scored the film 97% fresh, which is almost a perfect score. “It makes you laugh hard and often, and even blush a bit. There’s ample heart and passion in Marty’s messy race to the top,” wrote a critic for The New York Post.

Marty Supreme is an easy contender for best film of the year. Timothée Chalamet is an absolute tour de force in a career best performance. Josh Safdie masterfully directs, injecting it with chaos, anxiety and a an energy that dials up to 11,” wrote another reviewer, for CinemaDate.
