Just over two years ago, McDonald’s set the internet ablaze with the release of its first-ever Friends Meal.
Hailed as the ‘ultimate adult Happy Meal’, it was the collab we never knew we needed and the stuff that Millennial dreams are made of.
The meal has been available widely across Europe and is about to head to Australia as well, but it’s not yet made its way onto the UK menu.
However, McDonald’s might have just dropped the biggest hint that this is finally about to change, and could we BE anymore excited?!
The fast food chain’s official accounts have posted an image from the 90s sitcom’s opening credits, showing the iconic orange sofa in front of a fountain.
In the caption, Maccies gives little else away, simply alluding to the fact that the water coming out of the fountain kind of looks like the iconic Golden Arches, saying: ‘Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.’
However, fans were well and truly teased in the comments of the post, after a user known as @ashgamesuk asked: ‘Does this mean the UK is getting the Friends Meal now?’
To which @mcdonaldsuk replied: ‘I think we might be and I can’t wait.’
What is the Friends Meal?
The Friends Meal was first launched in Spain in October 2024 to celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary.
It featured McDonald’s staples, like a burger or nuggets, fries and a drink served in a Friends-themed box, along with a limited-edition sauce, known as ‘Monica’s Marinara’, which was created especially for the collab.
The sauce is described as being a ‘tomato marinara sauce that’s savoury and herby’, and traditionally, marinara sauce is made with tomato, garlic, herbs and onions.
And of course, the pièce de résistance is that the meal comes with a toy based on your favourite characters, with limited-edition figurines of Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross to collect.
In some countries, limited-edition collectors’ mugs have also been available to buy alongside the meals.

When it first launched in Spain, the meal cost €9.50 (£7.96), and currently in Australia it’s priced at $14.99 AUD, which is around £7.58.

While no official announcement has been made about the launch, this hasn’t stopped fans from sharing their excitement online, with @preciousmuir saying: ‘This has changed everything. I loooooooooooove this show.’
Similarly, @lyndonmayadore said: ‘Please. I will buy the whole set.’
‘OH MY GOD!!! It’s happening. It’s actually happening,’ proclaimed @daniel.marcus6.
‘Can’t wait to collect all 6 figurines,’ posted @cassaaannndra, as @shar.chaz added: ‘Well, McDonald’s, I certainly will be there for you! Thank you for listening to what we wanted!!!’
