McDonald’s fans, brace yourselves, the most exciting menu change in years is coming to the UK and Ireland.
From October 22, the fast food chain is launching a new World Heist menu, which features items from around the world.
There are burgers from Canada and Australia, McNuggets and drinks from Japan, fries from Poland and so much more.
But, as always, everything will only be available for a limited time (six weeks), so you’ll have to be quick if you want to experience Maccies like never before.
So what’s on the McDonald’s World Heist menu?
First up we have the Maple BBQ & Bacon Double Quarter Pounder from Canada, which will cost you £7.69 on its own, or £9.99 as part of a meal.
The burger features two Quarter Pounder beef patties, creamy Maple BBQ sauce, bacon, cheese, crispy onions and pickles, all served in a toasted sesame seed bun.
Next up is a treat that might divide those who hate sweet and savoury combos – the Pineapple McSpicy from Australia.
Priced at £6.29 on its own of £7.99 in a meal, the fiery chicken burger puts a a tropical spin on the McSpicy as we already know it, with a chicken breast in a crispy coating, classic sandwich sauce, a slice of pineapple, bacon, cheese and lettuce in a toasted sesame seed bun.
McNugget fans also have something different to try, as Garlic & Black Pepper McNuggets from Japan are part of the new line-up (£4.99 for 6, £5.99 for 9, £6.99 for a 6-piece meal, £7.79 for a 9-piece meal and £8.29 for a 20-piece sharebox).
For these, the classic McNugget coating is given a glow-up with garlic and a kick of black pepper, and then they’re served with a garlic & soy mayo dip.
Maccies claims they are ‘crispy and bold’ and provide a ‘flavour bomb in every bite’.
Sour Cream & Black Pepper McShaker Fries from Poland are the next item on the World Heist Menu, which allow you to have a little more ‘fun’ with your fries.
For these, fries are served in a bag and you add a sachet of sour cream and black pepper seasoning to them, before giving them a shake.
When they launch they’ll cost £2.19 for a medium and £2.99 for large fries.
The final side is Mac & Cheese Triangles from The United Arab Emirates (UAE), which will be £2.79 for a portion and £7.09 for a sharebox.
These see macaroni pasta in a cheddar cheese sauce coated in crispy breadcrumbs and served with a Tomato Ketchup dip, and according to McDonald’s it’s the ‘perfect comforting snack’.
To finish off your meal, there are two new dessert options: A Choco Caramel Pie from Indonesia (£2.39) and a Chocolate or Caramel Pretzel McFlurry from Malaysia (£1.89 for a mini, £2.49 for regular).
The pie is described as a ‘gooey, chocolatey dessert’ with ‘molten’ caramel and chocolate ganache inside, while the McFlurry is a ‘sweet and salty masterpiece’ according to Maccies.
It sees soft serve ice cream topped with crunchy pretzel pieces and your choice of chocolate or caramel sauce.
Everything can then be washed down with a Sakura x Sprite from Japan (£2.29) which sees Sprite Zero combined with sugar-free Sakura Syrup and served over ice to create a ‘crisp, floral and fizzy’ refreshment.
As always a new menu means that a number of items currently available will be axed.
This will include the items that launched to coincide with the return of Monopoly in September, such as the Philly Cheese Stack, Mozzarella Dippers and the Chicken Big Mac.
You’ll have until October 21 to get your hands on these before they disappear and the World Heist menu is introduced.
And if you want to be speedy about ordering, you’re in luck as McDonald’s recently announced a new feature that allows customers to jump the queue.
Know as Order Ahead, this feature is being trialled on the McDonald’s app in select locations across the UK.
But you will have to consent to having your location followed if you want to use it.
Order Ahead uses geofencing technology, which is location-based tech that creates boundaries on a virtual map. As such, you’ll need to consent to sharing your location in order to use it.
You place your order and pay via the app before you leave your location – be it home or the office – and then make your way over to get your food.
When your phone enters the boundary, an alert is sent to the restaurant so they can prepare your order as you approach and time it just right, so it’s ready for your arrival.
According to McDonald’s, your food will only start cooking when you are approximately three minutes away from the restaurant.
