It can get confusing trying to differentiate between all the Moab silhouettes, so we’ll break it down simply here: This is the updated Gore-Tex version of the Moab Speed 2s, and Merrell has given them 30% more foam underfoot, better breathability, and more traction. On top, there’s a nylon ripstop and TPU upper, with a waterproof (yet still breathable) Gore-Tex membrane for protection. Inside the shoes, you’re getting a mesh lining/mesh footbed covers, Cleansport NXT treatment for odor control, and FlexPlate technology for stability. That FlexPlate tech works alongside the FloatPro Foam midsole to give you lightweight comfort and support, and the shoes are finished with a lugged Vibram TC5+ outsole to keep you steady on the trails (and debris out of your shoes).
