Metro Line 1 will fully operate in November

Metro Line 1 will operate fully from November 16, when the three stations that are still being remodeled will open, confirmed the Head of Government of the CdMx, Clara Brugada.

Mexico City, October 26 (However).- The Head of Government of Mexico City (CdMx), Clara Brugada Molinareaffirmed that it will be November 16 when the stations of the Line 1 of the Collective Transportation System (STC) Metro that are still under maintenance, so that users can finally use it from Pantitlán until Observatory.

“On November 16, Metro Line 1 opens for all users, from Pantitlán to the Observatory complex. That is very good news that we had already reported a few days ago,” the company mentioned today. capital president during a supervision tour he carried out with the President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

In total, there are three stations that remain to open: Juanacatlán, Tacubaya and Observatorio, in which the remodeling work that began in 2022 continues.

“Everything that has been done here on this line was planning and was a project promoted by our current President of the Republic, to whom we are very grateful because it became the most important modernization that the Metro has had in its entire history,” Brugada pointed out to the media.

During the tour, the Head of Government also highlighted the connection between Line 1 of the Metro with the “El Insurgente” Train, so that, after its total reopening and the start of train operations, citizens will be able to travel from Pantitlán to the municipality of Toluca, in the State of Mexico.

“The Metro is the most precious public good we have in the city. It is the iconic public good, it is the heart of metropolitan mobility, and it is to which we allocate the most resources to subsidize the fare, which is important to say. And that is why we are very pleased that very soon, President, we will have you here for the inauguration of Line 1,” commented the capital’s president.

Metro Line 1 is the first to be inaugurated in Mexico City and throughout the country. With 20 stations, it travels 18.83 kilometers and transports 700 thousand people. With the opening of the Juanacatlán, Tacubaya and Observatorio stations, 150 thousand additional passengers will be added.
