Michael Jackson’s oldest son, Prince, announced on Instagram that he and his longtime girlfriend, Molly Schirmang, are engaged. The couple has been together for the past eight years, with Prince popping the question to celebrate their eighth anniversary together.
The 28-year-old philanthropist shared the news with a carousel of photos on social media documenting their relationship. Prince even tied in his later father by accompanying the post with his 1987 hit, “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You.”
In the first photo, Schirmang is seen showing off her new engagment ring whil sharing a kiss with her future husband.
“8 years down, [infinity] to go. Molly and I have spent a lot of time together and made incredible memories. We’ve traveled the world, graduated and grown so much together. I’m excited for this next chapter in our lives as we continue to grow and make great memories. I love you babs,” read the caption uploaded by Prince.
Paying homage to the Jackson family, Prince also included a photo of himself and his fiancée sitting with his 95-year-old grandmother, Katherine Jackson. The photo was taken in front of the Jackson family home in Encino, California.
The carousel also includes a photo of the couple after graduating from Loyola Marymount University, a date in the park, and cayaking adventures. It also included Halloween photos where they dressed up as Mario and Princess Peach, and Tinker Bell and Peter Pan.
News of Prince’s engagement led his cousin, Taryll Jackson, son of the late Tito Jackson, to express his congratulations in the comments section.
His sister, Paris Jackson, also commented, “warms my heart to see how much joy you two bring each other. happy anniversary love y’all.”
Drummer and songwriter Jonathan Moffett, who collaborated with Jackson, also commented, “Congrats to you both! Love you guys.”
