A man who won £1million on Ant and Dec’s ITV show Red or Black? has allegedly been accused of a ‘dine and dash’ scam.

Nathan Hageman, of Tilehurst in Reading, appeared on the simple win-or-lose game show in 2011, which ran for two seasons.

He’s now allegedly been accused of twice dining and dashing with a woman in two separate restaurants in Ayrshire, in south-west Scotland.

The incidents are said to have taken place at Beijing Banquet last Wednesday, where a £50 bill was racked up and not paid for, and at The 43 Mexican TexMex and Steak House on the East Ayrshire town’s Titchfield Street, where a £125 bill was left unpaid the following day.

CCTV footage of the pair has circulated online, according to the Daily Star, and the police have been alerted to the alleged offences.

Police Scotland confirmed that officers are now investigating the two incidents on August 27 and 28 respectively, with enquiries ongoing.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: ‘On Friday, 29 August 2025, officers received a report of customers leaving a restaurant without paying on Queen’s Drive, Kilmarnock, which took place on Wednesday, 27 August 2025. Enquiries are ongoing.’

They added: ‘On Friday, 29 August, 2025, officers received a report of customers leaving a restaurant without paying on Titchfield Street, Kilmarnock, which took place on Thursday, 28 August, 2025. Enquiries are at an early stage.’

Last year, Hageman was given a jail term alongside another man for stealing a nurse’s car after raiding a hospital staff room.

Hageman and Justin Clift took the keys from the intensive care nurse’s bag at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading on 22 April 2024.

Both had previous criminal records and were addicted to class A drugs when the theft took place, Reading Crown Court heard at the time.

Recorder Clive Broe told Hageman and Clift in the court hearing: ‘I doubt that you gave [the nurse] a thought.’

Hageman had 16 convictions for 45 offences before this conviction. He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, but walked free due to time already served in custody.
