A total of 6,274,980 units of eggs, equivalent to 522,915 dozen, produced by Black Sheep Egg Company, LLC, were recalled due to a possible risk of Salmonella contamination, according to a classification notice issued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The FDA posted on its website on October 14 a “Class I” classification notice regarding the recall of six different products from Black Sheep Egg Company. The “Class I” classification implies that there is a “reasonable probability” that consumption of the eggs “will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.”
The products were sold in six states of the country in retail and wholesale establishments of Arkansas and Missouri, as well as in wholesale establishments in California, Indiana, Michigan and Texas.
