AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – The Aiken County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of a Jackson, S.C. man as the result of a motorcycle versus vehicle collision on May 16th, 2025.
On June 20th, about 5:18 pm the Aiken County Coroner’s Office was notified of a death in the Joseph M. Still Burn Unit at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta.
31-year-old Austin Zabilowicz was pronounced at 4:52 pm after he succumbed to his injuries.
On May 16th, about 3:30 in the morning, Zabilowicz was the operator of a 2002 Harley Davidson that was traveling south on Whiskey Road near Chukker Creek Road when he struck the rear of a 2016 Hyundai Sedan.
The collision caused the motorcycle to catch fire with Mr. Zabilowicz pinned underneath.
The Aiken County Coroner’s Office and the Aiken Department of Public Safety Traffic Reconstruction Team are continuing with the investigation.
