Marks & Spencer has resumed online orders six weeks after it was targeted in a cyber attack.

The retail company posted on its website this morning that customers ‘can now place online orders with standard delivery to England, Scotland and Wales’.

It added: ‘We will resume click and collect, next-day delivery, nominated-day delivery and international ordering in the coming weeks.’

The retailer was targeted by hackers in April, which disrupted contactless payments and Click and Collect.

It was then confirmed that customer data had been stolen, although it said no passwords or card details were accessed.

A mysterious hacking collective known as Scattered Spider is thought to be behind the hack, gaining access to the retailer’s systems over the Easter weekend.

As a result of weeks of disruption, M&S said it expects its operating profits will be reduced by around £300 million.

While people have been able to shop in M&S’s physical stores using cash and cards, shoppers have only been able to browse online.

But shoppers have faced empty shelves in M&S stores after the attack, while online orders were paused for weeks.

M&S is just one of many major retailers that have been hacked recently including Co-op, Harrods, Dior.

Co-op had to shut down its IT systems to stop hackers from snatching personal and financial information like shopper passwords or bank details.
